Travco to Organize the Upcoming Egyptian & European Film Festival

Travco to Organize the Upcoming Egyptian & European Film Festival

Noon Foundation for Culture and Arts (NOONCA) in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, have selected Travco to be the official travel partner of the Luxor Egyptian & European Film Festival. The festival will be held in Luxor for the first time this year from the 17th to the 22nd of September 2012.

The festival’s main goal is to foster the knowledge and diffusion of high quality cinematographic and audiovisual work directed by Egyptian and European film makers.

The city of Luxor is to host this year’s festival due to its historical significance and the legendary flair it will add to the event. This choice has also been made possible by the enthusiasm and support of the local and national cultural authorities.

Despite the absence of movie theatres in Luxor, the organizers will provide professional expertise to convert the various venues selected into large scale and open-air theatres. Some of the considered venues are legendary landmarks like the esplanade of the Temple of Luxor or the Temple of Karnak, which are marvelous backdrops for colossal open-air projections. Resources are also being channeled to equip the Congress Hall for the occasion in addition to Luxor’s House of Culture. This unique feature of having open-air projections will also be rolled out on the West Bank of the Nile in Luxor as well as in the cities of Esna and Armant, via projection caravans.

The Festival will present more than 50 films and will receive around a hundred guests from Europe and Egypt, among which are numerous directors, actors and prominent film-makers from Egypt and Europe.
